President of Romania, Mr. Klaus Iohannis, to take part in the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly

On 24-26 September 2019, President of Romania, Mr. Klaus Iohannis, will participate in the high-level segment of the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly to take place in New York, the United States of America.
This segment is the initial part of every annual session of the UN General Assembly and represents the largest meeting of the heads of state and government within the session.
The schedule of the visit of the President of Romania will include, among other events, the delivering of the national speech at the General Debate of the UN General Assembly and the participation in the High-Level Political Forum themed “Accelerating the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”. The Summit aims at reviewing the progress achieved in meeting the 2030 Agenda and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals / SDGs. It will be the first UN Summit devoted to the SDGs, after the adoption of the 2030 Agenda in September 2015.
The topic of the general debates of the 74th Session of the UN General Assembly is “Galvanizing multilateral efforts for poverty eradication, quality education, climate action and inclusion”.
